Recently i have installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS version and liked it a lot.I would like to share you the features which i liked more in Ubuntu and which were not there in Windows.Here i mention you the 8 reasons for which you should try new Ubuntu.

1) Graphics

The first and foremost thing which i found after installing ubuntu is the minimizing and maximizing graphics of windows. The effects are really superb. what ever the window may be either video,audio visualizer or any other but the effects appears .You should really experience it.

2) Software Center



In contrast to windows there is no need to Google the name of the software you want to download and download it and no need to fear whether you download it from a trusted source or not.In Ubuntu they provides a you a software center from which you can download as many softwares you want for free of cost

3) Chat Client

In contrast to windows ubuntu has an inbuilt chat client and email client which supports facebook,Gtalk,jabber,msn and many more.The below image shows you the different varieties of chat clients it supports.


4) Multiple Workspaces

Ubuntu provides you with 4 different Workspaces that is desktops with which you can save your different works in different workspaces.You can easily shift the programs form one workspace to another so that you can have only less number of applications visible in your current active desktop.


5) Wine

This is the thing which i loved a lot in ubuntu.With the help of this wine software you can use the any windows application in ubuntu.See what a nice option for us.we can use the applications available in ubuntu software center and also any application which is only compatible in windows.

6) Terminal

Like command prompt in Windows you have terminal in ubuntu which help you to get your job done with commands. The look and feel of the terminal is superb when compared to windows .here we are provided with a transparent windows which look great.here is the image of the terminal


7) Drivers

In contrast windows other than windows 7 there is no need for ubuntu to install any drivers.so the burden of downloading drivers and installing them can be revealed from the user.And the time taken for installing is also very less which is almost around 10-15 minutes.

8) With Out Installation

One more feature for Ubuntu is you can explore ubuntu with out installing it also by running ubuntu live CD.All features of ubuntu can be experienced with out installing it also.
