Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author's profile page and delivered to the author's subscribers who are known as followers. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access. Users can follow lists of authors instead of following individual authors. All users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, external applications, Short Message Service (SMS) .

Technology author Steven Johnson describes the basic mechanics of Twitter as "remarkably simple:"

As a social network, Twitter revolves around the principle of followers. When you choose to follow another Twitter user, that user's tweets appear in reverse chronological order on your main Twitter page. If you follow 20 people, you'll see a mix of tweets scrolling down the page

TweetDeck I think you heard about this Adobe AIR application if not here is a brief introduction to it.Basically TweetDeck is a desktop app built on the Adobe AIR which is to built RIAs(Rich Internet Applications).In this you can access your twitter,Facebook,LinkedIn,MySpace,Foursquare accounts and recently they announced that they are even Buzzed(Google Buzz).

This Deck provides you with different columns for different networks and you can get all the updates directly to your desktop,mobile,Ipad to any of these devices.The updates are provided with notifications which look like  this.

After installing it and providing your username password for the deck it shows you a window which shows you the tweets tweeted by your followers,Mentions etc and on the top of the window you can see an yellow button which helps you in composing your update on clicking on that you will a box from which you can post your update.

Here comes the best feature which every tweep likes it has all the features which makes tweeting of a tweep easy .It has Automatic URL shortener,Tweet Shrinker ,Translator,Locater(Map) and shows a easy way to post your images and videos by just drag and dropping them into the box.The 2 more important and interesting features are an Update Scheduler which tweets your tweet at the scheduled time so that no need for you to be in online at the time of tweeting and it also provides you a Capture  and upload a video option which capture the video from your webcam and uploads instaneously.You can customize the look of it by changing the colors of its UI.

For Buzz Lovers like me.I hardly heard about a buzz desktop app.This is one of them.In this you have all the facilities to buzz a post , comment on it , like it ,mute it, delete it but the reshare option of buzz was introduced into this because this was released before the reshare button of buzz was introduced and i think they might update it in near future.

In the same way facebook,LinkedIn,MySpace,Foursquare are there in this app which can used strait away from the desktop.
